Six months after a Batavia marriage drought report the Courier now names the first bona fide Batavian couple to wed with their names set in capitals and enclosed in a border. The paper marks the occasion with celebratory note and full announcement.
The marriage of Wayland Kennedy and Miss Hattie Kain occurred in Williamsburg on Wednesday evening October 18. Rev. G W Fulton officiated.
