The Stone Bros circus followers worked a new dodge targeting merchants in Urbane. Two slick operatives sent $20 forged checks on Citizens' National Bank with notes from a supposed Colonel H H Williams asking cashing the checks after banking hours. Checks bore Anderson and Stansbery of Urbane as payees. Dunnell Bros. was swindled.
