Milford G A R reunion draws six thousand for soldier gathering

Milford hosts the fourth annual Clermont County Battalion G A R reunion and first Seventh Brigade state reunion with soldiers from Highland Brown Clermont Hamilton Clinton and Warren counties. Crowds exceed six thousand. speeches by veterans and officials, marching bands, a rifle salute, and a large public dinner define a grand day.

Death of Jackson township resident Arthur E. Clark near Monterey

Arthur E. Clark of Jackson township died suddenly at his Monterey residence from heart failure. He was 64 years old and had long suffered dropsy. A veteran of the 168th Company V 1, he was a member of William Predmore Post G A R. The funeral, led by Rev. John Burdsall in the Christian church, was followed by interment at Sharon cemetery and a large Monterey cortege.

Squire Hall presided over a Batavia ceremony uniting Christopher C. Brown and Miss Mary E. Cross. Both bring farms, stock, and prosperity to a new life begun at the bride’s mother's residence on Sunday the 15th. Wishing them happiness and bright prospects.

Rusk and Keys to Face Trial in Burlington

Bert Rusk John Keys and Mrs Eva Keys appeared before Squire Ermston on the Fee case. They traveled with an officer to Burlington Kentucky where the youths will be tried. Authorities report no guilt attributed to them and Mrs Keys is viewed with strong innocence. Case described as very mysterious with developments awaited.

Empty Revolver Accident in Felicity Ends with Wound

William Slack and Alfred Allen, in Felicity, found an old unloaded revolver. It discharged accidentally when Slack held it, wounding Allen in the thigh. Allen described the pain and was taken to Felicity for treatment. doctors could not locate the ball. The wound is not considered dangerous.

Practitioners Report From Clermont County Medical Society Session

The Clermont County Medical Society met at the court house on October 11 with Dr. Philip Kennedy presiding. Doctors J C Kennedy J B Coombs N B Hill A C Moore Charles Davis Ireton L W Bishop and A W Ashburn attended along with citizens. Papers on Microscopic Organisms and Difficulties in Diagnosis were read and debated. Ashburn presented Shock to Central Nervous System Traumatism, which drew favorable comment. Essayists were appointed or continued for the next meeting in May 1890.

Tragedy in South Lebanon as serenaders attack couple

A quartet of serenaders known as the devil's musicians beat Henry Brandenburg and his two sons in South Lebanon. William Taylor, John Taylor, Harry Taylor, and Fred Winehauf were arrested in connection with the assault.
