Pike Opens To Public Travel From Olive Branch To County Line
The county pike between Olive Branch and the Hamilton county line was opened last Friday providing through travel to Cincinnati without interruption. Built by Laub Pringle and Buerkle in six weeks, the project used the old road bed with efficient progress though critics say the road is too narrow as the plans specified a wider width.

Tobacco selling fast in barns at 20 cents a pound
The 1921 tobacco crop hanging in barns is selling quickly to local buyers at as high as 20 cents per pound. East Fork valley tobacco leads demand and curing is satisfactory. The crop is smaller than former years but strong prices encourage sellers to strike while the price is right and a buyer is available.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture and State Federated Crop Reporting Service place the 1921 Ohio crop at 160 million bushels, 9 million above the five year average, 19 million below last year, and 24 million under the 191% record. The U S crop stands at about 8 168 billion bushels, roughly 70 million less than last year.
