County Home Site Out For Corrections Unit

Clermont County Commissioners were told test borings show the County Home site on SR 222 is unsuitable for the proposed corrections facility. Other sites will be explored. Architect’s report cites foundation costs from 200000 to 250000 plus 60000 for sewers and about 230000 for basic site improvements. More Classes Offered for Handicapped Students

PPDC survey shows the Butler Clermont Warren counties expanding services for handicapped learners with 15 more classes this year and additional home closer options in eastern Warren and Clermont. Delmar Mahlerwein notes total enrollment decline but growth in class numbers and 32 school psychologists assist identification and problem solving. The threecounty program funds 305 special units under the State Foundation Program.

Superintendent Irvin to lead U.S. Grant Joint Vocational School

He will take the post December 1, likely based in Bethel area where the vocational school will be built. The new district serves Williamsburg Bethel Tate New Richmond and Felicity-Franklin.

Power Plant Plans Expanded CG&E Announces Three New Generating Units

The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company outlines plans to build a second nuclear unit at Zimmer near Moscow Ohio and two coal fired units at East Bend Kentucky and another CG&E site with DP&E and Ohio Electric partners. Each 600 megawatt unit costs about 213 million dollars and includes pollution controls. Construction at East Bend could begin next year with completion in 1979.
