Clermont General and Technical College in cooperation with local social service agencies launches a Community Education Program. Courses on home nursing first aid expectant parents nutrition and career decision making run Monday and Tuesday evenings starting each month with durations of one to three weeks. Clermont College seeks an 88 key piano for the University Singers concert on November 9. A college spokesman said any piano type is acceptable and the public is invited to attend. If a piano is unavailable attendees may bring their own.

The Frederick Building in New Richmond has been leased by the village for 1000 dollars monthly with an option to buy at 75000 dollars. Owned by Gerald Riebel, the former St Peter School serves as town hall since a fire destroyed the previous building on September 11.

Five county depots close as Norfolk and Western shifts to central service

Bethel Council Debates Halloween Curfew Plan

Bethel Village Council failed to craft an emergency curfew ordinance by Halloween after consulting village solicitor Clyde Mattox. The proposed rule would ban under 18s from village streets after 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and after midnight Friday and Saturday, with possible appeal if unconstitutional.
