Brief Illness Fatal To 'Sully' Sullivan

Sully Sullivan dies after brief illness while serving much of the war years as a mess sergeant in the Quartermaster section. He earned the Conrich Salon Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Survived by wife Frances, two sons Edward R. and Gary of the ONG Company in Batavia, and his mother.

Trap and Target Shoot Sponsored by North Monroe Community Club

Tax settlement disburses 4.12 million to divisions

County Auditor Arnold Stumpf released a report showing total tax disbursements of 4,122,647.53 to schools townships villages and county, up 196,190.43 from August 1968. Schools received 3,395,962.53, with townships 276,862.83, villages 78,515.65, and county 369,306.51, all figures vs last year in parentheses.

Final Rites Held For Retired Chief Richmond

Retired police chief Richmond, who led Batavia police from 1946 after wartime service, died. He served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, helped organize the Tri County Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was its first president.

Batavia Annexation Plan Seeks Bauman Lane Relocation

The Batavia annexation proposal covers the Annexers area and relocation of Bauman Lane for airport and industrial zones. Concerns focus on financing for street lights police protection and road maintenance. The proposed area would include 291 parcels valued at 1,216,769 in annual taxes with 14 miles of road.

35 Year Employee Retires from Local Company Honor

Mrs. Lytle, a native of Williamsburg and Clermont County resident for over 40 years, retires after 35 years as a telephone operator. She and husband Clarence have a son at Duke University. She formerly held roles in Batavia Eastern Star and is active in local churches and historical societies.
