Clermont County Corn Husking Contest Set for Saturday

Clermont County corn huskers and fans will gather at Edton Myers farm one mile east of Williamsburg Saturday morning Oct. 18 for the annual contest starting at 8 45 in a field of 18 Hybrid corn. Edgar Stockton seeks a third straight county title and a silver loving cup prize from The Clermont Sun. Women vocational and men’s contests run 30 and 80 minutes respectively with husking from the shock and more than 25 dollars in DeKalb hybrid corn prizes. Public invited.

Game Protector Re-Stocking Streams in Cler Mont County

Hilger Acquitted in Child Stealing Case

James Hilger of Vanceburg Kentucky was found not guilty on a charge of taking his youngest child from his wife and withholding custody. The trial in Clermont County lasted most of the day, with the jury returning a verdict within ten minutes after retiring.

Interesting Program Set for Clermont County Pomona Grange Meeting

Clermont County Agricultural Defense Committee outlined a 1942 program to boost milk output 6 percent, eggs 10 percent, beef and veal 12 percent, and hog production 15 percent.
