Ohio Farm Bureau to Start Rural Adult Schools This Fall

The Ohio Farm Bureau plans to establish adult schools in rural communities this fall and winter to help unemployed young people continue their education. A Batavia meeting outlined county plans with officials from FERA and the U. S. D. A. The program uses unemployed teachers paid by FERA funds and requires applicants over sixteen. Classes meet three hours weekly, with units of five classes likely in each county.

County Ministers Reorganize Local Methodist Association

The county Methodist ministers met Tuesday at the M. E. church and reorganized the county Ministerial Association. The Clermont County Ministerial Association held its first full meeting at the U. B. church at 1 p.m. Rev. E. S. Smith led a talk on Our Common Purposes.

Col Titus Located After Disappearance In Denver Trip

Colonel I E Titus of the U S Army, missing since September 1 while fetching coffee for his wife, was found last Thursday and returned to his anxious spouse. A Batavia sister reported news. Titus had been in poor health and recently discharged from a hospital. He and his wife were en route from Texas to Batavia, stopping in Denver overnight.

Batavia Grange No. 2450 conducted its annual inspection on Thursday October 4 with County Deputy C J Nobis and visitors from nearby granges in attendance. The hall featured dahlias from Mrs Ray Franks. Pomona Grange meets in Moscow on Saturday October 20 with many candidates expected to take the Pomona degree and prizes for the year to be presented at a 10 a m business session.

Williamsburg Grange held its inspection on Saturday Oct 6. A large attendance heard C J Nobis speak and enjoyed a student program. A flower show judged by Mrs James Patcher Mrs J D Wood and Mrs C J Nobis awarded prizes to Mrs Jas Musgrove Mrs Ray Franks and Opal Franks. Door prize went to Mrs Esther Shelton. Lecturer H C Rowan spoke of Grange hopes for another year while refreshments were served and members left, pleased with hospitality.
