Milford Woman Hired to Operate County Phone System
Mrs. Maxine Eveland 82 Riverside Dr Milford was appointed operator of the county courthouse switchboard. She started Monday replacing Mrs Melen Cook Batavia who left to become assistant clerk in the county commissioners office. Eveland is daughter of Ashuon Ashton near Williamsburg and is a Republican on Clermont County Board of Kidluu. The assistant clerk post was vacated mid last month by Mrs Delores Tarvin amid resignation tied to a pay raise dispute. The changes followed action by the County Board of Commissioners on Saturday.

Burglary Suspect Injured After High Speed Chase
James Edward Harley 45 of Covington Kentucky is in serious condition at Cincinnati General Hospital from injuries suffered when he wrecked his car on Route 50 near Owensville while fleeing police. The chase began in Hillsboro after a patrolman tried to stop his car. Harley was later captured after a search by county and state officers. His wrecked car contained new radios and TV sets. He is suspected of leading a ring burglarizing radio and TV stores in Hillsboro and Chillicothe.
