Kindergarten Classes Move to New Building in Withamsville

Principal Robert Holliday reported that Withamsville Tabasco kindergarten moved Thursday to a newly built two-room facility three doors east of the main school. The move frees space by splitting third and fifth grades with Mrs Grace Honaker teaching third grade and Roy T Johnston teaching fifth grade.

Adoption services extend to Clermont County through united appeal

Clermont County residents gain access to adoption services from the Children's Home of Hamilton County now extended to all county families regardless of employment location. The United Appeal and Community Chest Red Cross coordinate funds for 114 Chest agencies and 16 Red Cross services serving Clermont County, alongside numerous other agencies. The merger of the Clermont Red Cross expands disaster, education, health and veteran services to all residents, with door to door fundraising starting in October and a designated United Appeal Sunday on October 14.

Registration totals in Clermont townships top 11 thousand

About 11,255 voters registered in four Clermont County townships Goshen Pierce Miami and Union by the deadline. Miami Milford led with 4,907 registrations followed by Union 3,684 Goshen 1,374 and Pierce 1,290. The figure reflects first time countywide registration.

Whitt Named Manager of Clermont Credit Bureau

Officers of Clermont County announce Mill of Olive Branch will manage the Credit Bureau of Clermont County opening in Batavia late November. Whitt, a Clermont native, runs Whitt's Grocery and is a Batavia High School graduate and World War II Navy veteran. The bureau operates under the Credit Bureau of Cincinnati to combine credit data of Cincinnati and Clermont County businessmen.

Cancer Society Elects Officers in Clermont Chapter

The Clermont County Chapter of the American Cancer Society met on September 26 at the J. B. Covert Lodge hall and elected officers for the coming year. Robbery Fugitive Held In South

Sheriff Clyde Dericks reports William Wallace of Elmwood Place is in custody in Franklinton on robbery and car theft charges. Wallace allegedly slugged Luther Allison of Norwood and stole his money and car on Paxton Road near Branch Hill on Sept. 17.

County Cuts Relief Vouchers Amid Welfare Dept Austerity

Clermont County auditor Earle B. Kincaid said relief food and fuel vouchers were sharply reduced by the Welfare Department under a county commissioners order issued in July. September relief for 48 families cost 1129 dollars, August relief for 112 families totaled 3527 dollars. 69000 dollars welfare department indebtedness must be paid before policy loosening.

110 Clermont buses pass patrol inspection

The Clermont County school system had 110 buses inspected by the State Highway Patrol. Of these, 89 received a satisfactory rating, 20 were judged unsatisfactory, and one 1946 model was marked unserviceable. An unsatisfactory bus requires minor repairs within a set period, while an unserviceable bus must be removed from service for major repairs or discard.

Clermont County polio chapter receives 5950 donation

The Clermont County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis received 5950 to aid local polio patients, bringing the year’s total advanced to 9500. Mrs. Charles Abbott, chapter chairman, notes polio funds remain scarce in about 590 chapters nationwide and urges immediate inoculation as vaccine access expands.

September aid for aged in Clermont County totals $46712

The Department of Public Welfare reports 830 residents in Clermont County received aid payments in September totaling $46,712. The average payment was $56.28. Health care including out patient clinic was provided for 60 at a cost of $1,960.93.

Driver Charged With DUI After Fatal Batavia Crash

Robert Snyder 14 was struck and killed on Route 132 by Charles Good 44 of Batavia while walking with his brother toward his grandmother's home. Good was charged with driving while under the influence. The boy died at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Survived by parents, siblings, and funeral services held at Moore funeral home Batavia. Amelia Defeats Goshen In County Championship

Amelia seventh and eighth grade champions defeat Goshen 6 to 5 in nine innings in the first county championship game. A third game would be at a site to be decided by coin toss if needed, with a queen City umpire officiating all title games.
