Stuart Jordan, a university student, dies during a Mu Beta Sigma initiation from poison. Detective Tommy Rankin leads the case, finding shoes marked with thumbtacks and a possible nonmember presence. Ralph Buckley and Walter Randall from Vandalia assist, while Larry Palmer a My Beta Sigma member is implicated as drugged. Howard Merrick serves as guardian to Jordan. Edward Fletcher, a prominent lawyer, was present at the initiation. Check stubs show Jordan paid 400 dollars monthly to an unknown person.
