Dedication services were held last Sunday October 1 for the church corner stone delayed by rain. A large crowd saw Rev A M Dawson lay the stone and Mrs Isabelle Lytle spread the cement. Music by M F E and Presbyterian choirs accompanied readings and prayers as contents of the box were listed and placed in the stone.

Little Archie Ansteatt aged nearly seven died at home of his parents Mr and Mrs Leonard Ansteatt near Bata via from diphtheria after a two week illness. He was buried in the Bata via cemetery on Saturday afternoon with no funeral services due to the disease. The family has the community’s sympathy.

Bethel Crossing Tragedy Claims Mrs Harvey
Mrs North Harvey 69 of between Wiggonsville and Poetown was killed Saturday near Bethel when her buggy was struck by a C G P passenger car at a crossing. A 10 year old girl riding with her escaped unhurt as the buggy wrecked and the body was fatally crushed. Funeral Monday at 1 from the home. Retired Druggist Enos Reed Dies in Batavia Township
Enos Reed a notable Batavia township farmer and former Portsmouth business owner died last Thursday at about 80. He retired after years in Portsmouth and later lived on the Brimmer farm on the Davis Pike with his family. A Presbyterian church member, his funeral was held at the home and burial was in New Richmond. He is survived by one daughter.

Dr Enos Reed, born November 29, 1829 in Meigs County Ohio, died September 28 1911 at Grandview Farm Davis Pike after a year long illness. He built a drug business in Portsmouth and helped start the first street railroad, retired to his country home with wife Mrs Reed who died earlier, leaving a devoted daughter and many friends. County Commissioners Approve Public Office Additions
At the Monday meeting the County Commissioners approved a 20 by 24 addition to the Auditor's office and a new front counter floor in the Treasurer's office, both under $1,000, with bids to be solicited. They awarded an oak rail contract for the court room at $54.50 to Charles S. Ferris of Cincinnati and approved the Auditor's $5,000 bond with listed sureties. Toll houses at Olive Branch, Mt.
