Legislature eyes emissions tests in Ohio counties
Ohio lawmakers race the EPA to enact federally mandated emissions testing in Cleveland and two counties. Clermont County Commissioner Jerry R McBride warns sanctions could halt federally funded highways and deter some industries from locating here. Senate and House bills progress with hearings planned after a November recess as party support remains crucial. Main issue centers on state vs private testing locations.

New audits help safety at Ohio workplaces
In 1984 Ohio saw over 111000 job related accidents with Clermont County reporting two on the job deaths in 1983.
