An owner of a 1937 Ford in Columbus ends in a comic traffic incident when a cop’s brake test seals the door and triggers a tug of war. The driver frees the officer, starts the car, and exits amid blue exhaust. The item also notes a bank executive changes jobs, local Civil Defense bike race plans, baptisms, and various Clermont County events.
A marijuana suspect released on a bond under $1,000 pending trial is freed to assist his father in farming. In Clermont County, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Mosbacker won high honors at the Buckeye District American Rose Society meeting in Cincinnati for nine hybrid tea rose varieties shown at the Mosbacker home on Clough Pike. The Mosbackers placed first in one class and two thirds. the event featured garden tours and state-wide talks by rose experts.
Senator John Bricker will address Bethel at 2:30 p.m. in Burke Park as part of a Clermont County State Caravan visit on October 15. Local Clermont mountains plan to meet Republican candidates and hear Bricker, a re election candidate. James Garfield Stewart also speaks in Bethel on October 11 at 3 p.m. at a Lions clubs sponsored public ox roast.

In Withamsville Ohio the South Union civic association elected officers at Friday’s meeting. Returning to office were Laverne Jackson secretary Mildred Dieckmann treasurer and John Woods trustee. Two additional trustees Arthur Evan shine and Sam Martin were named to the board.
Dr. Kramer reports a campaign to urge voters to approve a hospital construction bond. An observer says eight Clermont nurses attended and felt they were not approached. The doctor warns one hospital project could draw more nurses to Clermont County.
A Local Selective Service Board orders 20 registrants to report for induction on October 9. They will be sent to the Armed Services induction center in Cincinnati and then to Fort Meade Maryland reception center. Names include Gene W. Seyler Donald E. Johnson Albert P ecatoold Thomas C. Shepherd William J. Notkes James E. McBurely and others.
Rites are set for Belvin Hager 21 of Batavia Route 5 after a 90 foot plunge into the Ohio River. Police report he survived the fall but died after later treatment at General Hospital. The incident followed a shooting at targets by youths. marital troubles were cited in the death.
