Obituary of John Wilson Washburn of Newtonsville Ohio
John Wilson Washburn born October 7 1857 near Newtonsville Ohio spent his life in the community. He was a descendant of pioneer Washburns and a grand nephew of Cornelius Washburn of Indian War fame. He joined the M E Church in youth and served on the church board for years. He died after months of illness cared for by wife and eldest daughter. His daughter Mary Helen had predeceased him about fifteen years earlier. He was upright and will be missed by relatives and community. The notice closes with a devotional verse about the departed and their enduring memory.

Grand Jury Reports From Clermont County Session
Clermont County grand jury met Thursday with Prosecutor Forrest Ely in charge. Forty three witnesses were examined across eighteen cases and twelve true bills were returned including cutting with intent to kill by Alec Curtis and Frank Turner. Other indictments include carrying concealed weapons by William Galloway and forgery by Horace Rogers. Additional charges cover assault, housebreaking, robbery, abandoning children, and assault with intent to kill. The county jail now houses fourteen prisoners.
