The United States Civil Service Commission announces an examination to fill the rural carrier position at Moscow Ohio. The test will be held in Cincinnati Ohio on January 18 1928.
About forty members gathered November st at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church for the county federation’s all day meeting. Morning business and officer elections preceded a generous dinner and an afternoon program of music readings and recitations. State Federation President Mrs Bricker of Hicksville Ohio gave an excellent talk. Officers elected included President Mrs Allie Rowan Vice President Mrs Mabel Wacker Secretary Mrs Blanche Franks Treasurer Miss Mabel Davidson.
Judge Edward J. Dixon of Hamilton county Common Pleas will address The Men of Milford at the Milford schoolhouse Friday evening December 8. He is famed as a jurist and after-dinner speaker in Cincinnati. Attendance limited to 160 by the Mother's Club, tickets must be reserved early.
Walter B Eppert died at his son W M Eppert's home near Locust Corner in his 88th year after long illness. Six sons and two daughters survived. Funeral conducted by Rev Griffith of West Union at Mt Pisgah Cemetery with Rev Burdsall assisting. A health notice defends state quarantine rules amid anonymous letters.
Mr Crosswell the Williamsburg garage man starts a jitney service to Cincinnati on Friday with three round trips daily. A new outfit guarantees punctual time and courteous treatment. The State Pike route is in good condition and will be a pleasure trip with stops along the way. Community meeting Tuesday evening 7:80 December 5 invites Be a community booster with a good program promised.
County minutes list numerous expenditures for repairs, supplies, and labor across many departments including road work, election costs, pike repairs, and governance services. It notes deputy hires for 1928 and specific road project authorizations including Bethel Williamsburg pike and Batavia Williamsburg pike. A Ford car is mentioned in connection with the county infirmary.
Entertainment at the Afton school house last Friday night drew praise for the program. Ice cream cakes and pies sold well, bringing in 17 dollars and 40 cents for the event.
Batavia Masonic dance planned at the Armory with generous music and refreshments supplied by the ladies. Committees ensure car and check room safety as attendees are invited to join friends and support a good cause.

About 100 members sought. focus on local betterment and town interests. The tobacco market is active with high bids around 85 cents, but crops selling from the pool may be fewer than expected.
At Batavia last Thursday the Clermont County Farm Bureau endorsed the Ohio Standard Dozen Fertilizer analyses as practical for Clermont soils. Ohio Farm Bureau leaders urged member action and stressed that state and national bureaus aid individual farmers, with emphasis on active local participation to push projects and improve service.
A new steel and glass building rising in Williamsburg to replace the burned Chair Company structure nears completion and will soon be ready for occupancy. The shoe factory building also nears completion with machinery soon to be installed and operations to begin. Williamsburg gains business prominence with strong public patronage.
A box social occurs Saturday evening at the Green Brier schoolhouse. Pies sandwiches and coffee will be sold with proceeds for painting the interior. Delia M Ringel teacher invites girls to bring boxes and young men to buy them. a good time is promised. George Gregg and Wite hosted their card club last Friday.
State Director of Agriculture Taber urged the Ohio Legislature to appropriate 250000 to compensate farmers for tubercular cattle slaughtered. He cited more than 55000 cattle tested during the year and 1050 herds totaling 17772 head, up from 489 herds and 8369 cattle on July 1, 1921.
At a special Stone lick Township Farm Bureau meeting on Thursday night November 16 the program for the coming year was outlined and will be adopted at the December 6 regular meeting. A Local Milk Sales Association will be formed as part of the plan.
The Mt. Washington cut over is complete and the O P. & P. line will bring light to Batavia. Highland Park power house is in bad repair and Williamsburg power plant awaits relief. When the switch passes, residents can expect ample light and a monthly bill adjustment ahead.
