Local business and professional men plan a Batavia Business Men's Club to improve the city. A banquet is set for Thursday December 7 at 6 46 PM at the Vermont Hotel with a permanent organization to follow. Dues are 10, and a list of enrolled members and a Masonic notice with a stated meeting December 9 and degrees scheduled for December 16 are noted.

New Passenger Fares Set for O. G. and P. Route

Dance A Success At Batavia Armory
The Masonic dance at the Batavia armory Wednesday night drew the largest crowd yet. Young people from across the county attended. net proceeds will be near $100 for the lodge. The cats, supplied by the ladies, were enjoyed and heavily patronized.

Walter Butler Eppert born May 29 1841 near Amelia died November 26 1922 at his cherished home. Married Candis Wyatt September 8 1867 they had eight children. Served 1861 to 1866 in the Civil War and enjoyed music as a Jenny Lind band member. He helped charities and was sociable hospitable to relatives comrades and friends. He leaves eight children seventeen grandchildren and many friends.

Thanksgiving Dinner For Clermont Infirmary Inmates
Inmates at the Clermont county infirmary enjoyed an elegant Thanksgiving dinner funded by an outside county fund prompted by Supt. Albert Ansteat. Turkey and trimmings were served with the inmates expressing thanks and enjoyment. The Batavia Masonic lodge elected officers for the coming year including Worshipful Master Fred Winters and a slate of other officers and trustees.

Theodore Roosevelt preserve dedicated in Scioto County
The State Game Preserve in Scioto County was dedicated Tuesday by Governor Davis and state leaders. It spans 20 000 acres with 15 000 bought from hunting license funds and 5 000 from the Agricultural Extension Division. Now Treasury saving certificates in 25, 100, and 1000 denominations are issued at discounted prices and pay 4 percent for five years. About 625 million of 1918 War Savings Stamps mature January 1 1028 and can be exchanged for these certificates to continue safe investment.
