Don Patton announced the chairmen for Clermont County American Legion Posts to lead the Christmas Fund drive. Each will collect purchase and distribute gifts across county tracts with new toys and clothing for donated sections. Financial gifts should be made to Clermont County Needy Kids Christmas Fund and mailed to The American Legion Box 311 Batavia OH 45103.

US 50 Bridge Reopens After Construction Work

State Rep William H Mussey announced the US 50 bridge over Stonelick Creek is back open to traffic after several weeks of floor construction. The SR 132 bridge between Owensville and Williams Corner remains closed for floor reconstruction due to rotten steel. A temporary roadway section on SR 222 near Batavia was completed and barriers removed with hopes the repair holds until relocation of SR 222 from Erion Road to the Norfolk and Western overpass.

Area Officials Find Method To Lower Local Speed Limits

State Highway Department adopts a plan after a conference with local officials led by State Rep. William Mas. The County Engineer will study streets and terminal points of the new proposed speed limit and forward findings with a county commissioners resolution to state officials. ACS Sponsors Cancer Patient Care Workshop

The Clermont County Unit of the American Cancer Society will offer a cancer patient care workshop on Wednesday December 3 from 6 to 9 45 PM at the Clermont Nursing and Convalescent Home 934 Goshen Pike two miles east of Milford on SR 28. Nursing home staff and others caring for cancer patients are welcome. Clermont schools spent 511681 for salaries for bus operation and 357113 for maintenance.

AC's Will Aid Holiday Motorists

The AC's Radio Club will patrol routes 32 125 and 52 on Thanksgiving Day and the following Sunday with two way radios to assist motorists. About 80 members from Clermont County participate in the 4C's Radio Club and can contact a base station for immediate help in emergencies.

Pastor Marks 25 Years At Owensville Church

Rev. C. W. Jesse, long time pastor of the First Baptist Church of Owensville, marked a quarter century of service this month. He began leading the church on the first Sunday in November 1944 and was honored with a day of services and a fellowship dinner featuring singing groups and many conversions. During his tenure the congregation launched four building programs and organized two missions, the First Baptist Church of Mason and another unnamed initiative.
