An unique merchandising event for men runs from 6 30 to 9 p m Tuesday December 4 at McAlpin's Cherry Grove Plaza Joyce Dale brunette and Barbara Hunter blonde model gifts will be awarded every hour during the program
Six area garden clubs won regional and state honors at Region IV of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs meeting in Hamilton. Loveland and Bethel clubs earned top and second places in regional and state awards, while Batavia and Felicity clubs received regional mentions. Luncheon served to 300. speaker Mrs. John W. Knight Jr. demonstrated holiday decoration techniques.
In the week ending Nov 17 Clermont County collected 9165.68 in motor vehicles sales and use tax, 1190.27 more than the prior year. Cumulative receipts total 181,247.15, up 47,744.27 from last fiscal year. Prepaid receipts amount to 5400.27 versus 14,153.99 last year. Year to date collections reach 319,309.92 compared with 224,673.85 a year ago.
Clermont County postmasters launch the Mail Early for Christmas campaign with tips to update lists, complete addresses, use first class mail with 4c stamps, separate local and out of town mail, and mail by December 10th for distant destinations and December 15th for locals. Air mail urged for distant or last minute mailings.
County commissioners decided to continue commodity distribution and resume poor relief payments. Welfare director Wayne One y and the Welfare Advisory Board had proposed ending the program due to costs of about 1000 dollars monthly serving 3000 people, with 2500 already in other aid programs. They voted to resume relief, noting funds may be available in December or January.
Patty Morgeson seven, of Langley Road Cincinnati, bitten in the face by a dog owned by Paul Leftwich of Locust Corner Road. While visiting Thanksgiving Day, the child was taken to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital where several stitches were needed to close the wounds.
Don Smith receives a fully trained female bloodhound named Sissy three years old. Smith, a special deputy, offers Sissy and her tracking partner to Sheriff Clyde Dericks for crime scene work. Hylda Owen of Villa Park trains Sissy with King from Cincinnati K-9 Corps present.
Owensville The Cler mont Northeastern PTA will present a panel discussion by four foreign exchange students on Wednesday November 28 at 7 p.m. at Northeastern High School. Parents and students are urged to attend. The executive officers will meet at 7 p.m. the same evening.
Bethel B A Mhardt of New Richmond becomes president of the U S Grant Trail replacing H E McKinley who remains vice president. Mrs Franklin Manning of Bethel serves as secretary treasurer. The trail between Georgetown and Point Pleasant spans 34 miles with over 500 scouts and adult leaders having hiked it in two years. New committee members include Mrs Alice Nhardt Dean Hinson Jean McKilley Victor Barber and others from New Richmond and Bethel.

The Batavia Junior Woman's Club annual Charity Ball will be held Dec 1 at the Armory. Tickets are available at the door. Bruce Behlow's Orchestra will provide music for dancing from 10 to 2.
Prosecutor Ralph A. Hill and Sheriff Clyde B. Dericks announced a policy meeting at 8 p m Friday November 30 in Batavia to discuss Sunday closing law enforcement. Mayors village solicitors and police chiefs are invited with Common Pleas and County Court judges to attend.
New Richmond district invites bids for Monroe and Pierce elementary additions at an estimated 1 million dollars. A new high school is planned funded by a 2.5 million bond approved last May. Existing layouts will shift eighth graders to the high school site.
The Amelia 4-H Club busily organized October activities including a hay ride on Oct 19 and a Dreamland Skating Rink party on Oct 22 to raise funds for camp. Alfred Haley aided safety program planning with a film and road safety talk.

A petition signed by 351 electors filed with Pierce township trustees asks for a referendum on a zoning change approved by the township zoning commission. The 10 acre Locust Lake Rd. tract owned by Francis and Martha Rapp would switch from residence to business. The zoning commission approved 3-2 and trustees 2-1 after county planning opposed. The election will occur in November 1963.
