The Courier urges the county commissioners to fill six planning commission vacancies after resignations. Bids to be received in Columbus by Dec 11 for the first of three U S 52 relocation projects from Two Mile Turnpike near the Cincinnati Waterworks to Little Indian Road east of New Richmond. The plan creates four lanes of limited access highway, multiple bridges, and extensions through New Richmond with access interchanges at Sutton Four Mile and several intersections including Frischs Augustus and Adams Street. The 22 25965 foot site spans Clermont and Hamilton counties.
Five planning commission members resign last week in Clermont County effective January 1 1963. The move meets resistance from Commissioner Charles Clark but is supported by Charles Hook and Zenas Anstaett who vow planning will continue. A. E. Suro also resigns as executive director. the executive committee will handle his notice.
County citizens donate to the American Cancer Society national research program as Clermont County contributes 1 977 dollars. The Ohio total reaches 560 661 dollars with 25 percent of local Crusade funds. Russell J. Speidel chairs the Cancer Crusade unit and Ernest Fried rich accepts the county share. The ACS has spent over 98 million on research in 17 years under a program led by 100 physicians and scientists praised by Nobel laureate Wendell Stanley.

Barbeau Construction Management of Batavia won the bid to prepare a feasibility study for the county sewer system. Other bidders included Alfred LeFeber & Associates Shaw Lenz & Associates Vogt Ivers & Associates and Art Andrews.
Harry R. Clark of Laurel Nicholsville Rd replaces Hawley Todd on the Clermont County Board of Health at a special meeting. Todd resigns. his term expires in March. Clark was recommended by the Clermont County Association of Clerks and Trustees.
The Clermont County Neediest Kids Christmas Fund adopts the slogan Make this a Merry Christmas for a child unknown to identify the drive. Seven American Legion posts coordinate countywide fund raising with donations of money toys and clothing to aid over 1700 children in past seasons.
The Office of Congressman William H. Harsha in the Kahle Building at 289 Main St Bataing will close from November 19 to December 3. Manager Mary Holies says she will take vacation during this period and notes the office has rarely been closed. Constituents may write to 1338 New House Office Building Washington 25 DC.
Mrs. Carl A. Strauss and Melville Le chairman of the Heart Association of Greater Cincinnati will address Clermont County Heart Fund Campaign chairmen and council members on Tuesday November 27 at 8 p m at the Presbyterian Church in Batavia Dr F Skeenz president of the Clermont County Heart Council announced Mrs Strauss is on the Ohio State Heart Association executive committee and an American Heart Association delegate She will discuss campaign activities of the Greater Cincinnati associations and the Clermont County Council
Fra ternal Order of Eagles Aerie-2269 hosts a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday November 24 with Bill Weimer and his Orchestra performing.
George Sidwell of Milford, chairman of the Clermont County Republican Executive Committee, announced removal of all GOP signs in the county to prevent clutter. He noted that some signs may be missed and urged sightings to be reported. Sidwell credited better organization and cross-candidate cooperation for GOP gains on election day.
William C. Wachs, a Milford resident living at 525 Price St, Milford, delivered a free illustrated lecture at 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Old Tech Building at the University of Cincinnati. The talk, titled Geography and Medieval Church Architecture, served as his UC geography and regional planning doctoral dissertation.
Everett Carter age 46 of 449 West Main Batavia was shot on opening day at Indian Creek Wildlife Preserve near Fayetteville. He was treated at Jewish Hospital for pellet injuries to legs and hands and released. Carter’s companions were Carl Tepe and Bob Scott both of Norwood.
