Ernest Fancher 21, of near Felicity, suffered his right hand torn off at the wrist and arm severely damaged when a corn shredder on the Menefee farm near Twin Bridges caught his hand during an obstruction removal. He was taken to a Cincinnati hospital where the arm was amputated below the elbow. He is single.

First Injunction Granted Against Co op Milk Contract Jumpers
A judge in Batavia granted the first of several injunctions against milk producer W V Calaway for shipping milk outside the Co operative Pure Milk Association in breach of contract. The order requires Calaway to deliver milk to the co op and prohibits shipments to others. The suit, filed by E J Tracy of Covington Ky, relies on a liquidated damages clause. A Clermont county case against another alleged contract jumper is anticipated. Calaway reportedly sells milk to Milk Exchange dealers in Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce trades.

The 1923 corn crop, the smallest since 1913, came from the fifth largest planted acreage in history. Production at 2,477,638,000 bushels with 105,604,000 acres and merchantable quality at 63.2 percent.
