Mr Harry C Moffet native of Lebanon Ohio will speak on Current Events in Foreign Fields at the Batavia Business Men's Club annual election and banquet Friday December 12. Moffet has served with the YMCA in France and on Polish Romanian fronts and aided the Smyrna relief after the war. He was decorated by Greece with the Cross of the Order Royal of St Georges and received the 38th Masonic Degree.

Stone Crusher at Work on Local Pikes
Buerkle and Pringle contractors completed a large stone crushing contract on Mt. Pisgah road last week and have moved to the Cincinnati pike below Batavia to widen the road toward the Hamilton county line. The crusher capacity is unlimited and will handle stone as fast as given. The widening is badly needed.

Burley Tobacco Growers Oppose 1925 Cut-Out Plan
Fifteen hundred tobacco growers from Kentucky Ohio and Indiana met in Lexington to oppose abandoning the 1926 barley crop and to declare that the cut-out plan could not be put in effect without violence. They pas s ed a unanimous motion to declare the cut-out off and to make the action final for next year's burley production.

Divorce suit heard by Judge Young in absence of Judge White
Ethel Binnings divorce suit against John Hart Binning was heard Friday morning by Judge Young due to Judge White's sickness. The case seeks divorce, child custody, temporary alimony, and an injunction against Amelia with funds from State Bank deposited to be held until settlement. Defendant did not appear. Youths steal autos in early morning town uproar
Three 16 year old youths were found with three autos in New Richmond after an early morning disturbance. The boys had stolen cars in Cincinnati and were returned there with juvenile officers. George Skipper and Herbert Rhinehart escaped from the juvenile home and admitted stealing two Cincinnati cars and a Chevrolet sedan. Charles May and John York led to their arrest.

Accident ends life of Blair Bunyan in Monroe shooting
Blair Bunyan 22 of Mason was killed instantly when a stray rifle bullet struck him in the head near Monroe while a group of youths including Gordon Carr 15 were shooting at a target. Bunyan died after a car crash on the Cincinnati and Dayton pike near a large Monroe garage. The shooting was ruled accidental with no blame on Carr.

Ohio Corn Crop Prospects Improve In State Report
Columbus report says Ohio corn will yield 26 bushels per acre, up one from October. Favored weather cited for brighter prospects, with 3.6 percent on hand, and merchantable quality at 56 percent, twenty points below last year. Tobacco yields low at 720 pounds. buckwheat yields 16 bushels per acre with high quality.

Worthy woman dies at 57 near Batavia
Mrs. Fred Ungelheam, 57, died at her Batavia area home after months of illness. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, one son, and a brother. Funeral from the U B church Wednesday at 1 30 p m. Burial in Union cemetery. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
