Tobacco Market Week at Bodman Offers and Sales

Weekly Bodman tobacco offerings totaled 2,497 hhds, down from 2,527 last week and 1,883 a year ago, with fine grades scarce and strong prices. In Wayne District No 8 teacher Stephen Quinby is accused of assaulting two pupils Jackels and Jumford after punishing them. A report says Quinby struck with a heavy bat causing Jackels to fall unconscious and be carried home. Parents swear out a warrant. Quinby appears in Monterey justice court with trial set for next Saturday.
