A Clermonter's Trouble Brings Tragedy on Georgia Race Track
The Chattahoochee Valley Exposition in Columbus, Georgia, saw a deadly shooting after a trotting race. T. C. Dawson was killed after being fired upon by Dick Howard, Robert Howard, and James Bickerstaff, who claimed justification amid family feuding. Dawson, son of Hon. W. C. Dawson of Alabama, had married and deserted a Miss Howard, sister to the three assailants. An inquest was set for tomorrow as police arrested the three men and the crowd dispersed

Boy's pluck saves life after train crushes legs
Milford youth Charley Lemmon age 12 or 13 was struck by a train on the Little Miami road. He improvised tourniquets from coat strips and a pine board to stop bleeding and awaited dawn. Doctors Dr Phythian and Dr Dawson operated, cutting off both legs, yet Lemmon recovered enough to sit up and smoke his pipe three weeks later.
