Harsha reviews federal funds for East Fork super sewer plan

Clermont County commissioners urge the Ohio Department of Highways to study an outerbelt north south highway to ease congestion in central and eastern areas. They want a route along SR 133 with access to I-71 I-75 and the Appalachian Highway, extending farther east than the regional authority plan for 1990. Clermont National Bank Relocation Denied by OCC

The Comptroller of the Currency rejected Clermont National Bank's plan to move its home office from Milford to Loveland to pursue a three county footprint. Opponents argued the shift would jeopardize Milford job creation and tax revenue, with local and regional banking interests voicing concern over precedent and regulatory impact. Work stoppage on Zimmer nuclear plant delays 1976 start

Construction on the William H. Zimmer nuclear plant at Moscow has been ordered stopped pending a new environmental study by the Atomic Energy Commission. The delay, driven by Maryland court orders for stricter plant rules, shifts expected operation from 1976 to 1977 and adds about 15 million dollars in costs. The project is a CG&E, Dayton Power and Light, and Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric cooperative venture.

Auditor Stumpf Releases '72 Property Tax Rates for Clermont County

Clermont County Auditor Arnold Stumpf announced 1972 property tax rates to appear on next year's real estate bills. Owensville leads with 55.48 per thousand, followed by detailed township by township rates for Batavia, Franklin, Goshen, Jackson, Miami, Monroe, Ohio, Pierce, Stonelick, Tate, Union, Washington, Wayne and Williamsburg areas. Also noted is funeral service for Matthew Wilson, 13, who died in a farm accident on SR 132 with burial in Batavia Cemetery. he was an eighth grade honor student at Batavia Junior High and a member of Olive Branch Boy Scout Troop 650.

David Campbell welcomes Rodolfo Ulloa from San Jose Costa Rica for ten weeks as part of the Open Door exchange at Williamsburg area schools. Rodolfo will live with the Campbell family and attend Williamsburg High School while visiting, mastering English and adapting to winter weather.

Appalachian Highway Opens Next Monday

The Appalachian Highway will open Monday December 2 with a ribbon cutting at 10 30 a m. The ceremony, one mile east of SR 32 and the new highway, will include Phillip Richley and Robert Bevis with local officials. Builders W L Harper Co and John R Jurgensen Co constructed the road from West Batavia to SR 133 Williamsburg.
