County Seeks Bids On Project Bonds

Clermont County commissioners seek bids by noon Dec 14 for 940 000 in school bonds for a new special needs facility and 50 000 for airport improvements. They borrowed for working capital on bond issues already issued and expect a better rate by delaying sale. The airport bonds mature 5000 annually 1973–1982 at 4.5 percent. Annexation OK'd for 27 acres south of Bethel Tate High School. A patrolman may be hired under federal aid if approved. Road widening to SR 125 and Tobasco Circle Freeway is planned. Judd Road SR 132 intersection project referred to highway department.

Keller To Remain On Library Board

Mt Repose resident Harry Keller longtime member of the Clermont County Library board since 1954 announced he would stay on the board. County commissioners had named Mrs Robert Frame as his successor after learning Keller had not submitted a written resignation. A library spokesman later said Keller decided not to resign.

Clermont County Student View Contest Launched

Community Improvement Programs announces a Clermont County contest for high school students ninth through twelfth grade. Entries begin in 1966 and cover past present and future with essays art photos or compilations. Burgess Admitted To Practice of Law

T. David Burgess of Williamsburg was named among 400+ Ohio Bar Exam passers after July tests in Columbus. He was sworn in Oct 30 as Counselor and Attorney at Law, holds a Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, and is a 1967 Miami University alumnus. He lives near Williamsburg with his wife.

Three Bridge Projects Underway in Clermont County

Clermont County undertakes three bridge and road projects approved by the County Commissioners. Plans include replacing two one way bridges in Union and Jackson Townships, installing a new floor on the South Milford Bridge over East Fork, and seeking Issue I funds for three road widenings on Pleasant Hill Road Amelia Olive Branch and a Batavia traffic control system.

Cannisters Placed To Receive Needy Kids Christmas Gifts

Clermont County Needy Kids Christmas Fund organized by seven American Legion Posts places donation cannisters in county businesses to aid local children. Chairman Donald Patton promotes 100 percent of funds for kids and welcomes gifts or donations via post offices and contact numbers. The fund marks its twelfth year with expanding reach and community support. A fall sports banquet at Milford High School honors football and cross country teams with speaker Jerry Faust of Moeller High School.

Clermont County Trustees to Elect Officers Meeting

The Clermont County Association of Township Trustees and Clerks will meet on Thursday November 18 at 8 p m at the Pierce Township Hall Locust Corner. Harsha Announces HEW Funds For Clermont County

Congressman William H. Harsha said over 2.7 million dollars will aid handicapped children in Sixth District Ohio schools. Clermont County receives 252 649.06 dollars for 1 699 eligible children under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Programs include enriched instruction teacher training preschool services work study and parent counseling.
