The Office of Price Administration explains the importance of War Ration Book I for all individuals and requests those unregistered to register by December 15 using OPA Form H-301. Officials warn late registration could deprive people of access to coffee and other rations.
U B Church in Batavia lists Sunday School at 10:00 worship at 11:00 and evening service at 8:15 with a special Christian Endeavor service planned for next Sunday. A Union Thanksgiving service with local denominations is set for Nov 25 at 7:30 led by Dr L M Hohn. Rev Russell Ford will present the Story of Christ on Dec 2 at 8 p.m. in song and pictures.
The Woman's Society of Christian Service at Batavia Methodist Church holds its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday December 2 with a covered dish luncheon at 12 then business and officer elections. A Turkey Dinner is set for Thursday December 10 starting at 5 o'clock.
Clermont County Agricultural War Board urges farmers to butcher this winter under the share the meat program to relieve livestock pressure, while some caution that meat spoilage and quota limits may affect decisions. County Agent Roy Battles advises feeding beef cows and calves appropriately to ensure meat quality and timely slaughter.

Recruits from Ohio Michigan and Kentucky train for Liberty Ship crews in the Victory Fleet with pay of 50 dollars a month during a three month training period and potential officer training after fourteen months at sea. A recruiting office is in Cincinnati at the Traction Building.

Clinton W. Puckett 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Puckett Route 2 Williamsburg C, reported to the U S Naval Training Station in Chicago for recruit training to prepare for service with Uncle Sam. After completion he will receive a nine day leave then proceed to a naval service school or active duty at sea or shore duty.
Ohio's 83 offices filled 47 918 jobs in October and referred 5 358 people to war production training. Applications for work reached 79 963, up 3.2 percent from September, while ten month totals show a 48.4 percent year over year rise. Rural declines offset gains in eight major centers including Akron Canton Cincinnati Cleveland Columbus Toledo Dayton and Youngstown with October up 6.5 percent over September.
Draft boards announce 147 men notified for induction in December, up about 50 percent from last month. Board No 1 will call 77 for final physicals, listing selectees from Goshen to Williamsburg including Charles J. Wolbers and many others. Board No 2 to furnish 70, with mostly single men, names include Charles H. Knauer and Russell H. Thompson among others.
Ohio State Defense Director R H Stone announces a statewide mock air raid alarm at 12 25 p m local time on December 7 to mark the Pearl Harbor anniversary. The mobilization aims to test local defense councils with more than 200000 volunteers expected and to study civilian readiness without halting war plants.
