The Batavia Armory hosts a Monday 8:30 PM rally featuring public speaking band music and singing. War bonds and stamps will be sold by Postmaster C. B. Coyle with speakers Judge Charles White and Major Frebus of Georgetown.
Forrest E Ely former Clermont County Prosecutor and Batavia National Guard commander has received his War Department commission. He will report to Camp Custer Michigan on January 2 1943 for an eight week Provost Marshal School before duty. Harry Britton will move his office to Ely's bank building and continue the practice with Edwin C Ely.
The Batavia Methodist church presents its annual Turkey dinner on Thursday December 10 at 5 p.m. The menu includes turkey dressing giblet gravy vegetables mashed potatoes celery cranberry jelly rolls butter mince pie and coffee. Adults 76 cents children 40 cents. the public is invited.
A revolving contraption dubbed the spiritual wheel operated in 1871 Colorado Springs. Customers placed a coin on the wheel and received a glass of liquor from a hidden bartender, with a partition separating patrons and staff.

Bayer is the third Bayer son to enter service, with two Bayer brothers already in the armed forces.
Thomas J. Herbert was unanimously elected president of the National Association of Attorneys General at the 36th Annual Meeting in St. Louis Missouri. Attendees included twenty five Attorneys General from 48 states with two more represented by deputies. Governor-elect Haig Arnal of Georgia presided at the banquet. The group endorsed a draft model state legislative program and directed talks with Director J F Byrnes on applying the new federal wage stabilization act to salaries of state and subdivision employees.
Rev Russell Ford famed tenor formerly of Cable Tabernacle will sing at Batavia United Brethren Church tonight December 2 at 8 pm. The public is invited.
Forms for landlords and complaints by tenants are available at the Cincinnati Area Rent Control Office, 126 East 4th St. The office covers parts of Ohio and Kentucky. Registration is required for certain properties with rent increases since March 1, 1942 or if vacant then rented, or newly constructed since that date. Penalties apply for violations. registrations due by midnight December 15, 1942.
Veterans urge public support for the Forget-Me-Not Drive to aid disabled World War veterans. Clermont County Chapter No. 68 of the Disabled American Veterans sponsors the Saturday fundraiser with volunteer saleswomen wearing a blue Forget-Me-Not to collect funds for rehabilitation and emergency relief. Commander Harold G. Dunham notes strong past support and cites commendations from national leaders including President Roosevelt and General Pershing.
The Batavia Junior Woman's Club will meet at Miss Helen Larkin's home Thursday evening December 8 at 8 o'clock. Program features Mrs. Robert Bradley at the piano with co hosts Miss Louise Buckner and Mrs. Karl South.
