Clermont County Bookmobile Update Expands Services
Doris Wood notes a new large red white and blue bookmobile will replace the Pioneer model from 1955. The service began two days a week then expanded to all county schools, with the school bookmobile added in 1957. In recent years the fleet supports adult services and visits many small schools, with 729 530 books loaned to date.

Evanshine resigns as BMOP Fire Chief and new chief named
Hamlet BMOP Fire Company trustees announced Cliff Evanshine resigning as fire chief effective December 1. First assistant Cliff Bachelier was chosen as successor. Evanshine becomes chief engineer in charge of equipment and training. Bachelier is a long time volunteer and leader in fundraising. Police cruiser bids sought by Bethel clerk treasurer with bid deadline November 26.

Glen Este Coach Dowling Named Coach of the Year
Tom Dowling, who steered the Glen Este Trojans to a Clermont County league mark of 17-1-1 and CCL title in 1965 66, earns second straight coach of the year honor. The Trojans have not lost league play since September 9, 1964. Christmas Fund Chairmen Named Clermont County Posts
Appointment of a chairman from each Clermont County American Legion post to run the Needy Kids Christmas Fund was announced by Donald Patton. Since 1960 the program has aided thousands of county children with toys and clothing. Each post covers a county area and volunteers collect purchase sort and distribute gifts. Contributions are directed to Clermont County Needy Kids Christmas Fund Batavia Ohio 45103. Collection points will be announced next week and funds cover all program expenses.

The Clermont Nursing and Convalescent Home at 1921 Goshen Pike Mulberry will host an open house Sunday November 27 from 2 to 8 p.m. Owner will welcome visitors. Hodges, son of former Williamsburg police chief Burton Hodges, is Owensville High School graduate. His wife Doris, administrator of a Newark nursing home, is the former Doris Ogle of Newtonsville and Milford High School graduate 1940.

Centenarian Mrs Fisher Celebrates 100th Birthday
Mrs Lora Caroline Fisher marked her 100th birthday with 30 friends at her son J Howard’s home in Utopia. Born in Fletcher Ohio she and her late husband once ran a carriage company in Cincinnati. She still cooks and launders, attends Hamlet SDA once weekly, and travels 27 miles each way for worship. Her family includes a son, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
