A 30 voice Batavia community choir directed by Lois Walters and Helen Lahmann will sing at the annual Thanksgiving Eve service at Batavia EUB Church, 7:30 p.m. The service includes ministers from local denominations and special solos, with offertory proceeds sent to CROP for global hunger relief.

Youth Identified In Rape Attempt In Clermont County

A 17 year old Clermont youth is identified as attacker in an attempted rape on Nine Mile Road near State Route 52. The 20 year old victim was treated at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital for severe injuries. State police and deputies assisted. the suspect is jailed.

False marriage report disrupts community in New Richmond

The Courier prints that an unidentified woman caused embarrassment by a false report of an approaching marriage between Mrs. Regeniald Halcomb of 114 Union St New Richmond and Donald Wibbels of 1520 Jenny Lind Rd Amelia. Wibbels is married with six children and Halcomb has three. the paper apologizes and requires written submissions for future engagement stories to allow verification.

Batavia Realtors Board President Welcomes Third Son

Mr. and Mrs. Joan E. Wilson of Batavia welcomed their third son at 5 30 a.m. Sunday Nov 20 at Clinton Memorial Hospital Wilmington. The newborn weighed seven pounds four and one half ounces. The father serves as president of the Clermont Warren County Board of Realtors and is a past president of the Batavia Business Men's Association.
