Arlington Heights backs Share-the-Tax Committee meeting

The Village of Arlington Heights will host an Ohio Share-the-Tax Committee meeting on December 14 at 8 p.m. in the village hall. The council voted to back the committee’s push for 1961 General Assembly action to authorize sharing municipal income taxes with residential communities where taxed workers live. Other villages like Loveland and Owensville have passed resolutions restricting tax collection to sharing agreements, while officials say the aim is to control taxation through negotiated agreements, not to forbid taxes. Governor DiSalle asked his committee to study the issue, and Attorney General McElroy’s office declined a pending opinion, noting possible constitutional questions.
