Water connections urged before township system starts
Clermont County engineer Carl Rush announced the Batavia Pierce Union township water system will go into use January 15. As of November 1 only about 700 signed for water had meter to house connections installed. Water bills begin when water is available and permit holders failing to connect owe minimum bills.

Number Farms Decline in Clermont County 1949 to 1954
Clermont County farms fell from 3013 in 1949 to 2487 in 1954 while average farm size rose from 78.5 to 85.9 acres. Land in farms dropped about 5,035 acres to 231,513, with about 23,000 acres converted to subdivisions and other residential plots. Dairy, poultry, and tobacco farm counts dropped. oats and wheat yields rose. apples and fruits declined. Grange Plans Open Meeting at Williamsburg Hall

Clyde Boner asked the Clermont County Board of Commissioners for a 90 day leave citing ill health. The vote carried two to one with Anstaett and Croswell voting yes while Clark objected to the process. State Auditor James A. Rhodes reports total poor relief subsidies to Ohio counties and cities at 16 076 043 60 for the year with November checks of 1 283 082 13. Clermont County receives 4 133 64. Six counties with about 50 percent of the population will get nearly 80 percent of November aid: Cuyahoga, Hamilton, Franklin, Summit, Montgomery and Lucas.
