Woman Charged In $54,877 Shortage At County Bank

Jean Kirkpatrick, 46, former employee of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Williamsburg, indicted by a federal grand jury in Cincinnati on embezzlement and false entries from March 1962 to May 1963. Officials say she kept two sets of books for four large depositors’ accounts. shortages found in June audit.

Cler mont National Bank merger details and staff changes

Mrs Kirkpatrick worked at the bank from February 1944 until last July, advancing from assistant cashier to cashier and then assistant manager after Clermont National Bank's official changeover on June 29. Clark County Clermont National vice president C C Harding said there was no loss and the shortage was fully covered by insurance.

Two Die and Four Injured in Milford Auto Train Collisions

A train struck a car on Round Bottom Road killing Dillard Trowell and injuring others. In separate incidents on Route 28 and Jerry Lee Drive, Doris Harris and Jim Schrieter were hurt. Herman H. Gagnon died in a Thanksgiving Week crash near Happy Hollow Road.

Court of Appeals Grants New Trial in Contract Case

The First Court of Appeals ordered a new trial in Clermont County Common Pleas Court in the dispute Herman and Virginia Frank vs Arthur and Lois Moore. The panel held a contract drafted by Hamilton County broker Jack Pratt was valid despite the drafter not being a licensed attorney and said buyers and sellers cannot be penalized for realtor licensing issues.

Summerside Woman Believed Insane In Slaying Case

Mrs Helen Ann Nathanson 49 is held on charge of killing her husband Mel Nathanson at their Summerside home 4637 Pike Road on September 7. A medical examiner has judged her insane, according to court records.

Tax Cut Decided For Next Year By Budget Commission

Clermont County budget commission members Ralph A. Hill Byron Ross and Earl Metger say no tax levy for TB care will be needed next year as the care fund will show a $96000 balance after this year’s bills. Tax savings amount to about 30 cents per $1000 of valuation for taxpayers. The commission will decide next year whether to levy the amount approved in 1960 for TB care, and other budget items include operation of a school for the retarded and a bond issue for a new school.

Cancer Crusade Named In Clermont County

Charles P. Woods of Mt. Carmel is named general chairman of the 1964 Educational and Fund Raising Crusade of the American Cancer Society in Clermont County. The April drive seeks to reach every home and recruit local chairmen in 14 townships while raising funds for research and services. Woods, associate editor at The Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company, urges Clermont Countians to join by contacting the local unit at 852-7321.

Seven Injured In Sunday Collision Near New Richmond

A two car crash 1.7 miles east of New Richmond on Rt 52 Sunday night injured seven people. Driver Jack Holland 22 of Moscow and Gilbert Brooks Jr 19 of Elmer N J led to multiple injuries with Brooks fracturing the spine and Holland sustaining facial lacerations. Responding riders took victims to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital and Christ Hospital Cincinnati. state patrolman Nick Morse investigates.
