Trailer Gutted In Tuesday Blaze Near Batavia
Batavia firefighters fought a Tuesday morning blaze on Rt. 222 just south of Batavia gutting a trailer home owned by Mr. and Mrs. James DeCamp. Assistant Chief Raymond Ross said total loss about 7500 with 4000 to the trailer and 3500 to contents after a defective electrical wire in a cupboard sparked the fire. Mrs. DeCamp was inside when the flames began but escaped without injury as units arrived and gained control within ten minutes.

Two Men Injured When Car Hits Pole On Mt. Carmel Road
At 12:40 a.m. Thursday a car carrying Richard E. Wagner 18 of Morrow and Merida Carnahan 21 of Bethel hit a utility pole on Mt. Carmel Road tearing down 70 feet of fence. Both were hospitalized at Our Lady of Mercy in Mariemont. Wagner injured with severe facial lacerations and Carnahan with a fractured leg.
