Accident Victims File Nearly $14,000 Damage Suit

Two suits totaling about $14,000 are filed in Clermont County Common Pleas. Mrs. Cole seeks 10,000 for injuries from a collision when Pleasant’s car swerved across the center line into the Cole vehicle. Cole claims the rest for car damage medical expenses and injuries.

At a Clermont meeting the Republican Central Committee endorsed McCowen and John Hayden for the House of Representatives Feli city Clyde Dericks for County Sheriff John Martin for State Central Committeeman and Clara Kimball for State Central Committee Woman McCowen spoke on high living costs accusing the Democratic administration of keeping prices high by buying grain openly disrupting supply and demand

New Richmond Names Fred Hoh Village Patrolman

Fred Hoh a New Richmond High School graduate and World War II veteran has been chosen by the New Richmond Village Council to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Joe Colonel as village patrolman. Hoh previously served with the Clermont County Rangers and had been elected to the village council in the recent election but resigned to take the patrolman post.

Mr A D St Clair from the State Department of Education surveyed rehabilitation funds in Batavia on Wednesday. He met with clerks of boards of education in the County Superintendent Frank Hoggatt’s office. The Legislature allotted 2 000 000 dollars with 1 000 000 yearly to qualifying districts. Qualification requires less than 9 000 in taxable property.

Services Held for Officer Killed in Action

Funeral services were held at the Goshen Methodist Church for Lt. Arthur F. Gears who was killed in action March 18 1945 in the European Theater. His body was among hundreds returned to the United States and he was buried with military honors in Goshen Cemetery. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Mary Gears one son a sister and his stepfather.

Clermont County Civil Service Employees Plan Local Chapter

Civil Service workers in Clermont County will meet in the Courthouse Conference Room Batavia on Tuesday at 8 p m to form a local chapter of the Civil Service Employees Association. About 40 members are in the county and all state county and municipal civil service employees are eligible to join.
