Two suits totaling about $14,000 are filed in Clermont County Common Pleas. Mrs. Cole seeks 10,000 for injuries from a collision when Pleasant’s car swerved across the center line into the Cole vehicle. Cole claims the rest for car damage medical expenses and injuries.
At a Clermont meeting the Republican Central Committee endorsed McCowen and John Hayden for the House of Representatives Feli city Clyde Dericks for County Sheriff John Martin for State Central Committeeman and Clara Kimball for State Central Committee Woman McCowen spoke on high living costs accusing the Democratic administration of keeping prices high by buying grain openly disrupting supply and demand
Fred Hoh a New Richmond High School graduate and World War II veteran has been chosen by the New Richmond Village Council to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Joe Colonel as village patrolman. Hoh previously served with the Clermont County Rangers and had been elected to the village council in the recent election but resigned to take the patrolman post.
The Star Circle of Felicity will sponsor a card party at the Legion Home in Felicity Saturday evening Nov. 22. A published note about a Grange Hall event was in error. only the Legion Home party is scheduled.
A turkey dinner was held at Holy Trinity Church in Batavia last Sunday. The Holy Name Society members prepared and served the meal in the church hall. The annual event was led by Pastor Rev. Thomas Coleman.
Mr A D St Clair from the State Department of Education surveyed rehabilitation funds in Batavia on Wednesday. He met with clerks of boards of education in the County Superintendent Frank Hoggatt’s office. The Legislature allotted 2 000 000 dollars with 1 000 000 yearly to qualifying districts. Qualification requires less than 9 000 in taxable property.
A Batavia couple Mr and Mrs John H Schultz celebrate their fifty fourth wedding anniversary with a family gathering at their home Nov 9. Guests included children and grandchildren from the Schultz and Miller families. The Schultz have recently sold their farm and moved to Batavia.
Batavia High School varsity hosts Amelia this coming Friday November 21 at Batavia. Batavia lights led by Ashburn with 10 points as New Richmond and Felicity losses raise county title hopes. Raper and Wuerdeman each score nine points.
The Cler mont County Republican Woman's Club will meet December 22 in Amelia school auditorium. At the November Batavia meeting Senator Kyle F. Brooks of Cincinnati urged vigilance on state and national legislative actions. Introduced by Rep. John Hayden of Felicity, the program featured piano solo by Miss Joan Ely and vocal solo by Nancy Parrott.
At Olive Branch Grace Grocery opens offering a general line of groceries meats tobacco and candies in a new shop.
Michael Lenehan, internationally known Ukrainian Peasant Evangelist, will speak at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Batavia at 10 30 p m on November 23. As an American citizen with current knowledge on Russia, he can answer many questions. His topics cover past and present religious conditions in Europe especially in the Russian Ukrainian Republic.
Frank W. Weaver Post No. 237 Batavia Ohio advances plans for a new 18 acre Legion home site with projects funded by donations and fund drives. A memorial park will follow and a cornerstone display at Rice's Restaurant highlights donor lists medal rosters and member records.

A new gift and novelty shop opens Friday in Batavia on Third Street between Main and North in the Fix It Shop building. Owners Don and Helen Evans will feature glassware china ware toys and books. Mr Evans veteran of eight and a half years in the Navy with three years in the South Pacific during World War I.
Mrs. Emma Hendrixson died November 12 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Harry Nort in Laurel. She leaves another daughter Mrs. Chester Gravett and three sons Orville Delmer and Milton Hendrixson. Services were held November 15 at Lew F. White Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services were conducted for Andy Thompson on November 10 at Lew F. White Memorial Funeral Home in New Richmond. He was a Spanish American War veteran and longtime community member.

Dr. Harold B. Kuhn of Asbury Theological Seminary will lead a special revival at Summerside Methodist Church. Services start Friday at 8 p m, with Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7 30 p m.
Funeral services were held at the Goshen Methodist Church for Lt. Arthur F. Gears who was killed in action March 18 1945 in the European Theater. His body was among hundreds returned to the United States and he was buried with military honors in Goshen Cemetery. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Mary Gears one son a sister and his stepfather.
Civil Service workers in Clermont County will meet in the Courthouse Conference Room Batavia on Tuesday at 8 p m to form a local chapter of the Civil Service Employees Association. About 40 members are in the county and all state county and municipal civil service employees are eligible to join. Nelson Watkins of Columbus, executive secretary of the state group, will lead the meeting.

The trial of Gerald Iles Bata via, charged with assault and battery against Mrs. Marjorie Hughes of Batavia, is set for Thursday in Clermont County Common Pleas Court. Suit stems from an alleged Aug. 18 incident. witnesses include Mrs. Hughes Theodore Hughes Basil Curtis Paul Blockner and Dr. Charles Webby. Defense: Nichols Speidel Nichols.
