She trained at Deaconess Hospital and Beth el High School class of 1945 earning high honors and awards. She lives with brother John Bulow in Mt. Carmel and previously worked at Bethesda Hospital and Ben Franklin Store.

Local Court Alimony Upheld by Higher Court

Judge Harry Britton learns that the First District Court of Appeals upheld the Clermont County Common Pleas Court ruling on alimony payments from John Caldwell to his former wife Mabel Caldwell. The appeal preserves the prior decision requiring repayment of about 2200 dollars despite Caldwell's request to be released. The higher court’s action is noted as significant due to recurring similar cases before Judge Britton.

Services Held For Rev Russell At Owensville

The Rev F H Russell 72 died of a heart ailment at his Owensville home. Funeral services were conducted in the Owensville Methodist Church by District Supt George B Parkin. He served since 1919 in area churches and retired last June though he helped at Camp Dennison and Miamiville. Survived by wife May one daughter Nellie Russell two sons Carl and William. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery Milford.

New Richmond Cafe Robbed by Amateur Suspects

Robbers believed to be amateurs broke into the Lee Cafe at 207 Front Street New Richmond on Monday night and took about $100 from a pinball machine, cash register, and a cigar box. They left a chisel and hatchet. fingerprints were taken by Police Chief Fred Joh. A carton of cigarettes not usually sold there was found. Fred Calloway and Ray McCoy operate the tavern.

Amelia Wins 43-42 Over New Richmond

Amelia basketball team edged New Richmond 43 to 42 Friday night to end the game with a late field goal. New Richmond led after each of the first three quarters as Crowder scored 16 for the visitors while Gaskins and Sanders each posted 14 for Amelia.

Elderly Woman Found Dead in Bethel Home

The body of 71 year old Mrs Maude McClanahan was found in bed at 522 S Charity St Bethel Friday morning after a neighbor failed to reach her by phone Coroner F S Skeen of Batavia ruled death caused by a bullet wound above her left ear a .22 pistol in her left hand She was last seen alive about 3 p m the previous day and had been dead since 10 p m Thursday Dr Skeen noted months of nervousness and despondency Surviving are a daughter Lena Morford and four sons Ralph Charles Virgil and Harold Navy service member.

William K. Shilling of Point Pleasant Ohio sails for a second Far East tour under U S Army Chief of Engineers orders. He previously directed design of the U S Army Hospital at Rycom Okinawa and visited Tokyo during service with the Corps of Engineers.

Batavia Attorney Heads Clermont County Bar Association

Allen B. Nichols of Batavia, a longtime member of Nichols Speidel and Nichols, was elected president of the Clermont County Bar Association. The bara met at Terrace Park Country Club with Sterling Brown named vice president and Judge Orville Halbisch as secretary treasurer. A committee was formed to coordinate courthouse record storage plans.

Contests Arranged For Pomona Grange Meeting

The Pomona Grange plans a Saturday 8 p m meeting at Goshen School on November 18. Men will compete with the best three ears of corn, while women display salt and pepper shaker collections with six pairs per group.

Batavia Team Defeats Felicity 63 to 47 in Narrow Start

Batavia beat Felicity 63 to 47 at Felicity gym on Saturday night. Haney and Rudd led with 17 points each for Batavia and Felicity respectively as Batavia pulled away in the fourth quarter. Batavia reserves won 32 to 17 over Felicity second team.

County Medical Association Holds Meeting

The Clermont County Medical Association met Wednesday evening at Dr. F. B. Skeen’s Batavia home with Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Herbert P. Lyle as guest speaker on the need for good county coroners. Officers for the new year were to be elected and a circular on laws for handling violent, accidental, or unexplained deaths was distributed by Dr. Skeen. Copies will be mailed to Clermont County Peace Officers Association members. Mrs. Skeen hosted dinner.
