Grange Program At School Auditorium Friday Night

Four Granges presented a program in the School Auditorium. The lineup included piano solos by Miss Josephine Henges and Miss Virginia Kain, readings by Oscar Dumford and Miss Betty Shamp, playlets such as How She Managed It and Rocking Chair Blues, musical numbers by Larry and Tommy Jones and the Pomona Grange Chorus, and talks by Miss Viola Miller and Mrs. of China.

Batavia Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star elected officers Monday night. Worthy Matron Mabel Miller and Worthy Patron John Fetzer head a roster that includes Daisy Wilson and Louis Bauer as Associate officers, Bertha H. Sam Ausman was sworn in Tuesday at Columbus for the short term of Clerk mont county commissioner on the Republican ticket. He defeated Hugh Donovan 7445 to 6412 in the general election and will fill the unexpired term of Frank Willis starting November 15 and begin the two year term January 1.

Tax deadline extended to Monday for personal and classified taxes

The county treasurer announced a one day extension of the tax collection to 4 P M Monday November 21 due to the Sunday closing date. About $18000 is due on personal and classified items with over half paid and an expected 95 percent or higher collection.
