J Wayland Robinson born December 24 1867 in McArthur Ohio grew up Batavia. He learned furnace work in Cincinnati and traveled for Gracies firm becoming an expert. After seven years back pain and rheumatism confined him, he endured illness with quiet faith and died Friday evening surrounded by family. He was devoted to kin and loved books, ending in a life of faith and affection.

Oliver Green a 45 year old colored school teacher living with his brother G W Green in North Liberty died by his own action early Sunday morning. He suffered from epilepsies and reportedly used a single barrel shotgun placed beneath his chin to end his life. The body was sent to North Liberty cemetery Monday afternoon.

Milford to vote on 75000 bond for new schoolhouse
