Fig tree adds beauty and bounty to Williamsville yard

Mrs Annette Certo and her son Sam show a four year old fig tree on Randolph Lane Williamsville. The tree was gifted by Charles Randolph and produced an abundant crop this season with several pickings totaling about a gallon. They protect the tree with leaves corn fodder and dirt in winter.

Recount Request Filed With Board Over Williamsburg Levy

Williamsburg residents filed with the Clermont County Board of Elections for a recount of the Williamsburg Village tax levy set at five mills for five years for operating expenses. Official tally showed 475 for and 805 against with 468 needed for passage. Recount timing not set.

Aid for the Aged report shows Clermont County October figures

The Department of Public Welfare Division of Aid for the Aged records 836 residents in Clermont County receiving $46,892 in October. The average payment was $56.09. Another 817 residents received payments averaging $55.93, 19 with average $63.05, and 47 received health care totaling $1,464.64.

Murderer Candidates Sketch of Hitchhiker Near Grause Body

Cincinnati artist Clarence Weise drew a sketch from witness descriptions of a hitchhiker seen August 25 in the area where Frank Grause’s body was found. The man stood about 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 7 inches, 135 to 140 pounds, wearing an army fatigue cap and blue Levi jacket and jeans. Report information to Sheriff Clyde Dericks or Prosecutor Ray Bradford. Grause’s body was discovered August 28 under rocks in a creek bed near Nicholsville.
