Civic Club Retains Counsel For Water Rate Campaign
At the Upper Clough Civic Club meeting on November 4, John D. Brown was named legal counsel for the water committee. The group plans a petition drive and asks water users for a $1 donation to fund the campaign. Water savings since the last rate cut total about 91,000 dollars, with annual per-user savings of 16.80 dollars, and potential future gains of 16.80 more per year. The club hopes to extend water service where feasible and aims to sign petitions at local merchants and with signatures turned in to the Commissioners in December. The club’s venue lists Civic Club, 786 Clough Pike, open 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 13 for petition signing.
