Ration dates moved to November for Clermont county

The Clermont county War Price and Rationing Board was told to shift the basic regulation dates from November 12 to 14 to November 18 to 20 due to a book distribution mix up. Registration for mileage rations will run 1 pm to 9 pm on those days at all county schools with forms available at service stations and other sites.

Motorists Told to Turn In All Excess Tires

Clermont motorists face delays in mileage rationing if they keep tires beyond the five per car limit. War Price and Rationing Board chair Edw. C. Saxton urged owners to dispose of excess tires before registration on November 18 to 20. Receipts from Railway Express Agency or proof of scrap tire disposal acceptable for basic ration applications beginning December 1.

Remember Pearl Harbor Theme of Eagle Rally at Clermont

Certificates Required For War Ration Truck Bus Operators

Truck, bus and taxi operators must hold Certificates of War Necessity before applying to the War Price and Rationing Board for mileage rations. The certificate, issued by the Office of Defense Transportation, fixes three months mileage and gasoline needs. Applicants must bring the certificate and a proper mileage ration application to the board for approval. On the basis of the certificate mileage the board issues transport rations, never exceeding the stated gasoline allotment. Off road equipment will register at the Batavia school auditorium during the week of November 28 to 28 from 1 to 9 p.m.

Owen Re-elected As Farm Bureau Heat

At the Clermont County Farm Bureau annual meeting held Thursday evening in Batavia, W. Pride was re elected as officer for the coming year. About 100 members discussed plans and policies while reports from the Clermont County Farm Bureau Co op Assn and related bodies were read. Other officers elected included Howard Elliott vice president and Mrs Harry Nott secretary treasurer. Delegates elected included Mr R F Turner as state meeting delegate and Mrs Harley Steward as alternate. Maude Anderson spoke on rural democracy. Roy Battles gave the feature address as county agent.
