VISTA Begins Training Here for Well-Child Dental Clinics

Clermont County pilots a health plan with a formal dedication for Well-Child and Dental Clinics on November 17 at the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Auditorium Batavia. Dr Edward Hake and Dr Martin S a idle man lead the clinics serving 1400 children and 2900 babies respectively with staff including Dr Richard Fleming Dr Robert Spaulding and others. The project occupies 2700 square feet in the County Service Center and funding comes from the CAC Office of Economic Opportunity and county contributions.

Salt firm wins county road salt contract in bid drawing

In a county commission drawing four firms tied at 13.80 per ton for winter road salt. International Salt Co. of Clark's Summit Pa. won the contract as snow shortages pressured quick action. Other bidders were Diamond Crystal Salt Co. Ste Clair Mich. Cargill Inc. Minneapolis and Morton Salt Co. Wadsworth.

Nativity Scene Program Slated for Advent Event

The Batavia Business Men's Association nativity scene opens the holiday season with a program at 8 30 p m on November 27 announced by Rev W Richard Waddle. Choral groups from local churches invited to perform as Main Street lights illuminate and extend decorations to West Main Street.

Republicans Sweep Local Offices With One Democrat Wins

In Clermont County, Republicans predominated in the general election with Charles W. Jackson the sole Democrat victorious in Probate Court. Governor James Rhodes led county votes with 15,188, while Lt. Governor and other statewide races drew strong GOP support. Several local levies failed, including the hospital levy and water fluoridation, while some renewals passed. Total county turnout across 121 precincts reached 22,587.
