Goshen officials split 3 2 over censuring Robert Gower for allowing four school personnel to ride a school bus, including a lunchroom worker from the antipoverty program. The board also tied approval of extra duty assignments to policy compliance, with the same division.
Hamilton County coroner Dr. Frank Cleveland will address the Clermont County Republican Club at 8 p.m. in the Cincinnati Gas and Electric auditorium Batavia. The meeting will include a nominating committee report by Mrs. Elvira Werner Judge Ralph Hill and Auditor Arnold Stumpf and the election of officers.

Clarence Ogletree 59 fatally stricken by a heart attack Monday. He guided Batavia High athletic programs for years, helped build a county baseball field, and supported youth sports. Survived by wife Mary Batts Ogletree and ten children including Donald Ogletree of the University of Cincinnati. Services at Moore Funeral Home Batavia with burial in Batavia Cemetery Friday. Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday before the courthouse.
Clermont County commissioners extended the briefing deadline to November 21 for New Richmond, Pierce Township, and other objectors in the Beckford Power Plant annexation litigation. New Richmond seeks to push the municipal line downstream to gain the CG&E plant and its tax asset, while a compromise is under study to keep current plant units with the township and extend the village boundary to include a unit under re construction.
Members of The Little Miami and East Fork Rivers Citizens Historical Society plan a November 12 gathering at 2 p.m. at Old Bethel Church one mile from Bantam on Elklick Road. Rev. John Collins founded the church in 1805 and it remains active as Clermont’s oldest church. The program features Albert Bitters on early pioneer churches Grace Hirschauer Jersey Settlement notes and Batavia Postmaster Hill notes Veterans Day postal closings.
