County Youth Dismissed in Court Dispute
Charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident in warrants from Justice of the Peace William Holtke of Columbia Township Batavia, Hall was dismissed by Magistrate Howard Friedrich of Anderson Township at Newtown. Hall allegedly struck the car of Frank Fischer on State Route 74 in Anderson Township. case taken to Columbia Township after objection to magistrate jurisdiction.

Charles Fetter Dies of Natural Causes in Owensville Field
The body of 67 year old Charles Fetter of Owensville was found in a field near the village. County Coroner Dr Allen Rapp ruled death due to natural causes related to heart disease. Fetter, who had a history of heart attacks, had gone out to gather hickory nuts.

Mutual Aid by Firemen to be Discussed
Charles Scott and Joseph Feldman will meet county officials to form a mutual aid association for rural fire protection. The plan would let communities pool equipment to fight fires they cannot control and allow neighbor departments to assist. A meeting is set in the Court House Conference Room on Friday November 7. Clermont County Farm Bureau to meet at United Brethren Church Batavia at 8 pm Thursday evening.

Carnegie Medals Awarded Three County Youths
The Carnegie Hero Fund Commission in Pittsburgh awarded bronze medals posthumously to Howard E. Pierce of Williamsburg for his attempt to save Annabelle Ferry from drowning in East Fork on June 16, 1947. Also honored were Robert A. Hess of Batavia and Yandell Scott of Williamsburg for aiding in the rescue which saved Ferry. A Batavia sheriff sale on courthouse steps netted Chalmers Ratliff a $10,000 purchase of a five room home in Withamsville. Ratliff is principal of Withamsville schools.
