Bad Check Writer Sought By Sheriff
A well dressed man about 5 11 and 160 pounds with light brown hair is sought by the county sheriff after passing two fake checks in Batavia and Williamsburg. The checks bore the name Albert C. Miller from First National Bank of Batavia, a bank account under that name not existing. He chats with merchants before paying with oversized checks and may name local citizens. Sheriff Clydé Dericks urges merchants to contact him or any village officer if suspicious.

Women Injured In Auto Mishap Near Clermontville
Chief Charles Spaulding reports a car driven by Mrs Jessie Baker left Clermontville-Liaurel Road and crashed into a ditch Friday night. Mrs Baker suffered fractures to the right leg and left arm, passenger Miss Waits received cuts to the left leg, and Baker's children Dean and Gene were uninjured. They were taken to Bethesda Hospital by White ambulance.

Farmer Ends Life in Bethel Home
Clermont County farmer Ralph Waldo Young, 55, shot himself at his Bethel-Maple Road residence. His son Tom, 23, found the body on the dining room floor around 1 p.m. with the gun nearby. wife Elma shopped in Cincinnati at the time. He left a widow and three sons and three daughters. Funeral arrangements were handled by Tucker funeral home in Georgetown.
