Seventeen of twenty bond issues and levies were approved by county voters on November 2. Readouts show Amelia, Washington Township, Williamsburg Village, Williamsburg Township, Goshen, Ohio Township, Northeastern, Wayne, Glen Este Mt Carmel, Milford, Miami, Edenton, Williamsville Tabasco, Branch Hill, and Felicity among those approved or defeated. Woman Dies In Two-Car Crash Near Newtonsville
Mrs. Clara Zornes aged 55 of Branch Hill died after a two car crash at the State Routes 131 and 133 intersection near Newtonsville. She was a passenger in her husband David Zornes’s car, which collided with James Carrier’s vehicle. Carrier and his passengers Nelda Perkins and Ella May Perkins survived or were treated. other relatives were injured or treated at Christ Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital.

Water Project Drilling Set for Union-Batavia-Pierce System
Sinking of 16 inch wells to serve the Union Batavia Pierce township water system starts this weekend as the first construction phase of the 2 400 000 project. County engineer Carl Rush announced the site chosen for drilling after three test wells yielded 120 gallons a minute. Two more wells will be sunk to meet the 1400 gallons per minute requirement.

William K Parsons 23 of Batavia struck a concrete abutment on Hutchinson Road near Route 54 in a 1950 Pontiac. He was hospitalized at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Mari mont with severe facial lacerations and a dislocated right hip after losing control while delivering mail. He is expected to stay in hospital two weeks as doctors treat his injuries.
