Burglary Spree Hits Clermont County Buildings

No arrests have been made for three Clermont County building burglaries last Wednesday night. Loot totals about 1200 dollars with safes opened at Goshen Branch Farm Bureau and Goshen School plus a break in at Mulberry School Route 28. Sheriff Dericks and Deputy Bissantz investigated. may reflect an organized band. A child injury incident involved Douglas Schaffer 8 hit by a car on Hopper Hill Road. he is in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with hand injuries cuts bruises and possible skull fracture. driver Donald Klift of Amelia not charged.

Objections Registered to Complaints Against County Home Leader

About 35 people gathered at the Batavia Courthouse to challenge complaints against Clyde Bower, Clermont County Home superintendent. The meeting followed a prior delegation led by Mrs. Katherine Mitchell, who cited sanitation, privacy, language, and care concerns but later praised Boner’s management after a tour.

County home labor woes greet aging residents debate

Fire Destroys Large Barn on McClelland Road

A large barn on William Smysor's property at McClelland Road and Route 28 was destroyed by a fire of undetermined origin Friday night. Neighbor Charles Crist stored hay and machinery there. Milford Fire Department, led by Assistant Chief Robert Smith, prevented spread to dry grass and weeds. Machinery valued at least $1500, no damage estimate yet.

Hoderlein Sold to Boston Red Sox Infield Prospect

Mel Hoderlein son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Hoderlein of Mt Carmel has been purchased by the Boston Red Sox. He batted .292 with 50 RBIs in 107 games for the Louisville Colonels of the American Association and is an infield prospect. He and his wife and child live in Birmingham Alabama.

Republicans Meet November 9 at Clermont County Club

The Clermont County Republican Women’s Club and the Citizens Republican Club will hold a meeting at the Mt. Pisgah Community House at 7 30 pm Thursday November 9. A potluck supper is planned and attendees should bring table service.

Youth sportsmen sponsor program at Clermont clubhouse

The Clermont Sportsmen, Inc. will sponsor a youth program at their Elk Lick Road clubhouse on Friday evening November 10. The event will feature short talks and films, with invitations extended to 4 H, Girl and Boy Scouts and other youth groups and individuals. A free lunch will be served.

New Seventh Day Adventist Church to Dedicate in Hamlet

The new church opens with a three day program from Friday to Sunday including a 7 30 p m consecration led by evangelist R L Boothy. Saturday features dedication by M E Loewen and a D A Ochs sermon with a baritone recital by Faga Springman. The church, begun October 7 1949 after war delays, was built by members with donations and free labor.
