Off Year Voters Registered in Clermont County Election
Voters in Clermont County's 14 townships and 10 villages will vote Tuesday in the first county wide registration election. About 60 percent are registered and eligible. County officials list candidates across villages and townships plus school levies and bond issues. Union Township mayors zoning decision. A 0.2 mill TB levy is the only county wide issue. The vote features 14 women among candidates.

Nineteen Indicted by Clermont County Grand Jury
The Clermont County grand jury met in Batavia and indicted 19 individuals on varied charges including drunken driving, disobeying traffic devices, furnishing liquor to a minor, check fraud, and burglary. They urged urgent juvenile detention space and jail improvements and commended Matron Mrs Clyde Dericks and Sheriff Dericks for jail operations.

Bartlow of Shadyside Ohio state commander of the Disable American Veterans will address an open meeting of all veterans at 8 15 p m Monday Nov 9 at Kettler s Kottage restaurant here The announcement was made by William Sibert Jr and Robert C Branham commander and adjutant of the Clermont County Chapter DAV Commander Bartlow served in the army during World War II and entered combat at Omaha Beach on Aug 10 1944 as a corporal in a gun squadron He was wounded repeatedly including loss of his right hand and vision in his right eye The DAV specializes in aiding veterans or their widows with claims for war incurred disabilities Questions on individual claims will be answered following Commander Bartlow s talk Nov 9.

Groundskeeper Victim Wilmer Foster Dies in Tree Trimming
Funeral services for Wilmer Foster 32 of Rt 3 Batavia are set in Winchester after he was killed Tuesday afternoon at the Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. while trimming trees in the plant recreation area. Police say a forked limb snap pinned him. Survived by widow Wanetta a daughter Connie Jo and a son Gregory his mother Grace Foster two sisters Mildred Shot and Sandra Foster and five brothers Jack Clifford Philip Vernon and Gerald all of Winchester.

Community Welcomes Its First Attorney Davis J Myers
MT Carmel Ohio reports its growing community has attracted its first attorney, Davis J Myers, who opened a general practice at 531 Cincinnati Batavia Pike. A former Cincinnati resident, he came from Columbus where he assisted William Saxbe and worked for Russell Leach. Myers chose Clermont County for its growth and future prospects. He is a former Allstate claims adjuster and WWII Air Force corporal. He and his wife Martha plan to buy a home. they have a 19 month old son John.
