Two Die In Train Crossing Crashes
Clermont County recorded its 26th traffic fatality when Earl A. Dumford 35 of Branch Hill was killed after his car was struck by a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train at Branch Hill Guinea Pike. Two days later James Hilton 30 of Eastern Ave died when his truck was struck by an N and W Railway passenger train at Newtown. Hilton’s truck was hurled 40 feet into a freight depot, with the body of his dog also found. Dumford funeral held at Worhis Funeral Home in Lockland. He is survived by his widow and four children plus his mother and three sisters and a brother.

Former Sheriff 1929 33 Dies at Batavia Residence
Robert Roberts a Batavia resident and Clermont County former sheriff died Saturday. A Republican he served 1929 to 1933 and earlier was deputy sheriff for three years and later managed the state liquor store at Batavia. Requiem mass was at St. Xavier Church Tuesday at 9 30 a m with John J Radhel Funeral Home handling arrangements. He is survived by widow Marie Roberts and two children Sister Marie SND and Robert A Roberts.
